Support a Ministry Passion
Whether you have a specific ministry in mind or are seeking options to focus your support, we can help you fund your ministry passions.
Ways to Support
Make an impact on the Kingdom today by setting up a personal or family ministry fund. Once a fund is established, you can make a donation as you are able and then distribute resources as you feel led.
You can continue to make gifts after you pass on by creating a personal or family legacy fund. The contributions to these funds will be invested in a God-honoring way to generate income for the ministries you select until Christ returns.
Many believers long to give but may not feel that they can currently afford to do so. The Foundation provides the option of a deferred gift, which allows individuals to take low income producing assets and turn them into income producing gifts that will benefit your preferred ministries at the time of you or your spouse’s passing.
A great opportunity to create an offering is through your estate. By including your church or a ministry in your estate plans, you could make a tremendous difference for God’s Kingdom. You may consider leaving a percentage, a child’s portion, or an even greater amount depending on your situation.
We recommend developing a plan to ensure your estate is distributed in a way that both honors God and provides for your family. Contact us to schedule a consultation on estate stewardship. Once we understand your goals, we can connect you with a Christian attorney to create a plan that meets all your needs.
Under the current tax code, there are a multitude of ways for believers to support Christian ministry and save taxes. If you have a significant tax event on the horizon, an asset that has significant capital appreciation or want to make sure your estate does not suffer from heavy taxation, we can help.
Though there are many ways we can help, here are the three primary taxes we can address:
- Capital Gains Tax on highly appreciated assets
- IRD Tax on retirement accounts when transferred at death
- Estate and Gift Tax on larger net worth estates
If you find yourself at your retirement years with assets that do not produce income, and you have a desire to support ministry, we can help producing more income by finding you the gift instrument that best fits your needs.
We understand the complications in business succession planning, whether your needs lie in appointing future leadership, navigating family challenges, acknowledging tax consequences and even potential dissolution. The Georgia Baptist Foundation provides consultation to business owners to address these areas in a God-honoring way. Many business owners do not begin planning early enough—contact us today for a consultation.
